The EOS Global Hackathon series is open to anyone 18 years or older who is interested in working on creating fun, cutting-edge Dapps on the EOS.IO blockchain. The ticket price is set at $10 USD no matter if you're a developer, a designer or an entrepreneur. Five (5) people maximum are allowed per team. You can arrive solo and meet up with others to form a team at the event or you can build your own group beforehand and come to the event as a team. A laptop is a must for any participant. The event will provide food, drinks, Wi-Fi and all instructions necessary to utilize the EOS IO platform.

Challenge

The hackathon “challenge” will be released on the day of the event to ensure a level playing field for all participating. In the meantime, all participants in the hackathon are encouraged to get familiar with documentation on the EOS IO developer portal and to get involved with the community through the EOS IO social channels and telegram groups.

An astounding $500,000 USD will be awarded grand prize along with a sit-down including Block.one and EOS VC. Individual event awards are as follows: 1st place $100,000; 2nd Place $25,000; and 3rd place $10,000. Three prizes of $3,000 will be awarded to superlative participants. Main Event

Hong Kong, Sydney, London and San Francisco will host the individual events. Winning team members receive paid travel and lodging expenses to compete in the main event. The final event will be a pitch competition and demo day for winning participants of the prior hackathons to compete for the grand prize. The location of the final event has not been disclosed. The first two events were a huge success. There is no doubt that London’s hackathon will draw large crowds to support the growth of this decentralized global community.
